Pianist Luka Okros returns to Budapest
Hear a selection of lyrical Romantic works played by London-based Georgian pianist Luka Okros, who returns to the Liszt Academy with the recital as a part of his European tour. He will present famous pieces by Beethoven, Chopin, Schumann.
He has already won eight first prizes in top international piano competitions and performed in 40 counties. Described by critics as 'Intense, strong and natural, with an impressive creativity', Luka Okros has gone on to earn an international reputation for the passion and excitement he brings to his live performances.
Highlights of 2019/20 season include recitals in Europe and Asia - Valencia (Palau de la Musica), Reykjavík (Harpa), Hong Kong (HK City Hall), Tallinn (Tallinna Filahrmoonia), Luxembourg (Conservatoire), Paris (Salle Cortot), London (Southbank Centre), London (St John’s Smith Square), Amsterdam (Het Concertgebouw), Helsinki (Musiikkitalo), Budapest (Liszt Academy), Tbilisi (Conservatory).
In addition to his career as a concert pianist, Luka works on creating an album of his own compositions. One of the pieces was filmed and premiered by Het Concertgebouw’s Sessions.
