Would things have ended differently if Emma had had a brother and the family business hadn’t been left to them, to the girls? And if her sister, Adél, hadn’t fled abroad? And if Emma hadn't run away to Pest? And if on the evening of the 16th day of June 1984, she hadn’t met that tall – 195 centimetres – man with chestnut coloured wavy hair, green eyes, a deep brown voice and big hands on the disco ship?
Emma’s persona was compiled from more than twenty in-depth interviews with women. These are stories that we are usually not privy to, because they take place behind closed doors and the participants are either unwilling or unable to talk about them. This time, if only indirectly, through Emma, they each open up to us and show us a hidden, silent moment in their lives.
