Kodály Quartet celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2016. Founded by students of the Ferenc Liszt Academy, Budapest, the quartet took on the name of the Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály in 1972. They have been ambassadors of Hungarian string quartet culture both domestically and internationally. In the last few decades they have toured with great success in almost every European country, as well as in the United States, Japan, China, India, Australia and New Zealand.
