During the concerts of Nigun, this bygone, mystical tradition – truly human in its essence – starts to speak with great energies, in the language of modern jazz. The band rediscovers the soul of Jewish tunes, while remaining dedicated to the genre of jazz. With its latest album, Live inem Sargfabrik (2016, Fonó Budai Zeneház), Nigun toured both in Europe and the USA. The band members collaborate regularly with guest soloists, for example, they recorded their third album in 2006 with Daniel Zamir, Israeli saxophonist. They also participated in the Hungarian premiere of Cobra by John Zorn, under the direction of the composer, and played with Don Byron, Steven Bernstein, Frank London, Aaron Alexander (Hasidic New Wave), Yale Strom, Amikam Kimelman, among others.
